Overheard frequently at downtown's hot live music venue, Underground 119: "This doesn't feel like Jackson." Maybe it's more accurate to say that this basement club/restaurant is redefining what it means to go out at night in the central business district. The venue has some of Jackson’s best live music Wednesday through Saturday (ranging from jazz to bluegrass to blues and more), plus a stylish decor (featuring blues-themed artwork by Patterson/Barnes) and a tasty tapas menu. Underground 119 draws a diverse crowd with a healthy mix of ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds, and it's almost always packed on the weekends.
