On the night of March 8th my boyfriend and I visited The Ole Tavern formerly known as George Street Grocery located at 416 George Street, Jackson, MS. It was my boyfriend, myself and another one of our friends. We all got drinks from the bar. Before we could finish our drinks the security guard was shining a flashlight in our face while walking around stating, “ I’ve had enough of this, and I want everyone out right now.” We never knew what had occurred. We were told to pay the tab and get out and we were also told that we were not allowed to finish our beverages. Not knowing what really occurred on Friday night my boyfriend and I decided to give this establishment another chance. We thought it was a nice place to relax to socialize with our friends. We walked in Saturday March 9th and sat at a table located in the rear of the establishment near the restrooms. We started a tab and were socializing with our two friends. We were rudely interrupted by the same security guard from the night before. He came over to our table and said that we have five minutes to pay our tab and get out. We were all shocked. We asked why we were having to leave and the security guard told us because I decide who can stay and who has to go. My boyfriend paid the tab and then exited the establishment to speak with the security guard to find out the nature of the problem. He says “y’all are two big black guys who are intimidating, and they want y’all to leave”. The security guard comes back to the table where my friend and I were waiting to find out what has occurred and told us that we couldn’t finish our beverages, and that we have to leave because we are with the two black guys. My boyfriend and I are a mixed couple and we had a white female friend of ours along with a black male friend of ours. We are very professional people and conduct ourselves accordingly. My boyfriend is in law enforcement and I am an operations manger for a prominent business in the Jackson area. This whole ordeal was very embarrassing to us. I feel that we were targeted because of racial intentions.

McB's is a great place to enjoy friends or family. The Wineburgers are the best burgers in MIssissippi. Homemade fries, and onion rings are tremendous. If you're in the mood for red beans and rice, you will enjoy as if you were in New Orleans. I highly reccommend McB's for fun, entertainment, and atmosphere!

I went to go see what the new Club Magoo's was all about with a few girlfriends, and I did not stay for an hour; after paying $10.00 at the door for a band that sucked, and children running around asking everyone (21+) and up to get them a drink, I don't mind paying a cover, but I pay a cover to not play with Children. I will never go back to this place, not will I ever go with friends. What a shame, this place could do well, and it may, but they will never get my money again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found myself in Jackson MS on a Sat night and googled gay bars in Jackson MS. JC's came up and I noticed it was opened around 7pm so I headed over not knowing what to expect. There was a small cover which is fine with me. This was my first time in a gay bar in Jackson...the crowd grew steadily thru the evening....98% men and 35 and up which is right up my alley. If your looking to hang out with a crowd that is mostly men and friendly this is the place. I met the owner "Jack' who was incredible nice. They have a jukebox...which I love to play when I bar has one. There is a piano there, but it was not being used that night. They only sell beer and wine....which evidently is common in Jackson unless you sell food. I would highly recommend this bar for mature men or those wanting to be around them.

I read NickX 's posting earlier and decided to stop in to try out Castaway's. I AM SO GLAD I DID! ... I love a GOOD Hamburger, and this is one of my TOP 5 ... of ALL TIME! .... Highly Recommended, Great Place, looks like a fun place at night too. I'll have to come back tonight for karaoke.

I have been going to Castaways on and off since they opened. They moved into their new location first of this year, and have stepped up what it means for "THE PLACE TO BE" !!!! The FOOD is amazing, Everything I have tried so far has been EXCELLENT! The Atmosphere and staff have been GREAT! This is a place I would highly recommend! ...... THANK YOU!

bottoms up is the best gay bar that mississippi has ever seen! its always packed and i always make new friends and the workers there are very nice. the dance room is really cool and the sound systems are better than most of the straight bars we got here. whats really cool about bottoms up is they always plan cool events like costume partys and they have good deals on the drinks and the drinks aint watered down. i think the parking lot needs more security across the street. i love a drag show but my only complaint is that im tired of seeing the same tired drag queens on saturday night. every time i go they have the same 2 drag queens and someone else. i think they should have 3 or 4 different people every week because the shows are too short and im sick of seeing the same queens do the same songs and the same costumes every time i go and the main drag queen is very boring always doing ballads and standing still. we know youre pretty so prove your talented geez. some of the other queens who dont work every weekend have been really really good. i think their doing shows on friday nights too but i aint been to one yet.

We were very disappointed in your new place...the smell of tobacco was terrible..we were going to eat and enjoy karaoke but couldn't stay..there was no non smoking area...why do you allow cigars in an eating place??. What happen to non smokers rights.??.Calif, New York etc.they take their drug habit outside..nicotine is the most additive drug in the world..the clubs downtown o.s have more class...please please at least ban cigars..7 of us won't be back untill you clean up the air..most people like the smell of clean.....
