The Dance Studio is no longer in business. I highly recommend Applause Dance Factory in Ridgeland. They offer Ballroom, Latin, Salsa, Swing, and Country Western dance instruction. Great instructors and several group classes to choose from each week. Private lessons are are also available by appointment. They also have dance parties every Friday night 8:00-10:00 pm. and some Saturday night parties as well. Great prices, no contracts and pay as you go policy.

I recently received in the mail (week of October 3rd, 2011) a "free pass" and notice for a "Greater Southern Gem Stone & Jewelry Show & Sale" at the Mississippi Trademert, Jacksn, MS , announcing dates: Saturday, November 12, 9:00 to 6:00 and Sunday November 13, 10:00 to 5:00. There is something wrong here. When contacting the Mississippi Trade Mart manageent office on Monday, October 24th a spokesperson advised that no such event is scheduled. Can someone let us know when the next event will be held by this organization?

Love the photos. The sense of community and happiness is all over their faces. I'm disappointed that, through all of the photos I've seen about this year's Figment in Jackson, I have yet to see any photos of The Garden of Domestic Violets, an installation at which I witnessed many moving and emotional reactions. Maybe next year, right?

Hi, these photos were taken by a MSU student who was a last-minute fill-in after my regular photographer was unable to make it. I too was disappointed he didn't get any photos of JSU fans. However, generally our galleries of football tailgating tend to focus on the home team, and we will definitely be shooting at all the JSU home games this season, from the Grambling game on Sept. 19 all the way to the action-packed Capital City Classic on Nov. 21. This was a benefit for the 114th Military Police Company out of Clinton who is getting ready to deploy. All of the proceeds were given to the Family Readiness Group to help with the families left behind and take care of issues that may come up.
