Christina Aguilera, Cher, Cam Gigandet, Julianne Hough and more talk first times, nudity and why their movie isn't what you think

“Burlesque” is one of the biggest gambles of the movie year. The $55 million sexy-cute musical romance is headlined by recording industry divas Christina Aguilera (who’s never made a movie) and Cher (who won an Oscar in 1988, but hasn’t starred in a movie in 11 years).
The minute the project was announced there were snickering comparisons to famous disasters like Mariah Carey’s “Glitter,” Britney Spears’ “Crossroads” and the “I’m a dancer!” camp classic “Showgirls.” Audiences will get their chance to find out whether that’s fair or not when “Burlesque” opens Nov. 24.
Until then, take a look at some highlights from the recent Los Angeles press day, including Aguilera’s thoughts about making her first movie, fellow newcomer Julianne Hough (“Dancing with the Stars”) on her concern that signing up meant stripping down, “Twilight” co-star Cam Gigandet’s own decision to grin and bare it, and Cher’s reasons for not making a movie in so long.
