What a weekend it was for fans of home-grown Mississippi roots music at Hal & Mal's—first they hosted the ever-popular North Mississippi Allstars on Friday night, and then on Saturday, Dec. 27 they held aconcert by Vicksburg native George McConnell, who was a founding member of seminal Oxford acts Beanland and Kudzu Kings as well as the guitarist for jam circuit superstars Widespread Panic from 2002-2006.
