The nu-soul movement's brightest stars
OK, we admit: It's pretty unfair to call any of the following artists representative of a "nu-soul movement" or any such buzzword. Most are definitely doing their own thing, which is exactly why R&B and soul music is more exciting now than it's been in over a decade. Still, they all clearly share a love of the classic sounds of the soul pantheon, where legends like Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, James Brown and Sly Stone sit enthroned.
