Sometimes, a salad won't do. There are times in life when what you need is a hamburger. A juicy beef patty between the halves of a nice fluffy bun, with some cheese involved. Apologies to Jimmy Buffett, but a little Hinds 57 wouldn't hurt, either.
It makes me hungry just thinking about it.
Jackson is a burger town, and there are lots of good places to get your fix, but this space is about Majestic Burger, and it surpasses good without breaking a sweat.
Majestic in Ridgeland has been a gathering spot for me and mine, whether that means a family night after a ballgame, a date or a business meeting. I've done all three there, and it was the perfect setting in each instance.
The waitstaff is friendly, the surroundings are fresh, clean and sunny, but I know you don't want to read about that. What you want to know about is the meat.
While there are other items on the menu, and I am sure they're good, I have never veered away from the burgers. I have never had a reason to - they're just that good.
My favorite is building mine from the bun on up to the toppings ($6.75), but there are several varieties already on the menu. My boy Michael's favorite is the Majestic burger ($7.99), which comes with bacon, cheddar, comeback dressing, lettuce and tomato, but he holds the veggies.
The mini burgers are also favorites of mine just because they are cute. It's a woman thing.
Throw in some of their yummy sweet potato fries, and I am smiling.
