Fine dining for downtown Hattiesburg. 206 brings an upscale urban feel to the area with decadent gourmet entrees and appetizers. They have two levels which are basically two different worlds. Downstairs is the dining area/art gallery featuring local artists and is a quiet more subdued sit down experience. Lunch served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. is a bit more laid back. Upstairs is their bar serving food from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. everyday and is where you can go have a few martinis and let loose. An extensive wine list to accompany your meal is great on both levels. They have a patio extending from upstairs as well. It's a multifaceted venue that transforms by day and night with class. The bellini martini is a must try. To get a taste of the menu some notable items are the lamb chop appetizer breaded and seasoned with a mint demi-glace, stuffed quail; for salads several endive options with homemade balsamic and for entrees such items as beef wellington, duck rendered and served on ratatouille with peppercorn sauce and rabbit. The owners are Italian and fuse new American flair with various pasta and gourmet Italian classics.
