Inside: Aladdin II
The original Aladdin location, in the heart of the Fondren District, was brilliant in both concept and execution, with an eclectic menu and décor that fits the neighborhood perfectly.
Aladdin II accomplishes the same culinary goal, but does so in the middle of suburban Flowood. The dining area is much smaller and geared more toward the soccer mom set, but they’ve lost nothing in tastiness. The falafel, hummus, tabouli and other Mediterranean staples are all top-notch, and there’s a wide selection of platters and sandwiches to suit any preference.
Alas, unlike the Fondren location, there’s no monthly belly dancing – this is the Dogwood area, after all. But Flowood is slowly building a solid reputation for choices in dining, and Aladdin II is a welcome addition to that improvement.
