Amerigo has been a metro area favorite since 1987—proof of their excellent service, cuisine, and customer base.

An endless menu, incredible service, and a cozy yet casual atmosphere makes Amerigo a must-visit hot spot for lunch or dinner. If you are planning a dining experience, you might want to check on a reservation as it will be quite busy at times.

The food: Their unbelievable cheese fritters are a definite favorite appetizer, filled with blended cheeses with marinara and honey mustard sauces for dipping, or, as I prefer, a side of delicious ranch. The small version is enough for two or the large for a group ($5-$9.50).

Other starters include calamari, portobello French fries, crab cakes, mussels, delicious artichoke cheese dip (goodness it’s good), bruschetta and mozzarella and tomato basilico of cheese, tomatoes, pesto, onions, and balsamic vinaigrette.  All of their appetizers are divine and worth a taste.

They serve up eight different salads with a unique flair that can be a meal, especially at lunch time ($7-$10). All of their dressings are homemade and are all worth a try and quite different.

Choices of entreé include traditional Italian pastas, pizza, chicken, salmon, fish of the day as well as steak, veal, or pork items.
All of the pastas are served up cooked to order, with many different varieties along with the traditional spaghetti, bow tie pasta, penne and ravioli dishes ($11-$15). You can add a salad, soup or Caesar or house salad to any pasta dish ($4).

The brick oven pizzas are 12 -inch size and prepared with honey yeast dough and a combination of blended cheeses ($10.50-$12.50).

The specialty pasta dishes of lasagna, chicken Tuscany, chicken Marsala, parmesan, eggplant, and veal are a must try. Whether you are a tomato sauce, white wine lemon butter sauce or Alfredo lover, the offerings are so delicious you will be sharing your meal with your guests ($11-$19.50).

Their house specialties feature chicken, salmon, fish of the day, beef filet, New York strip, ribeye, veal and pork tenderloins.

There are so many offerings and you won’t be disappointed with any choice. Excellence in consistency is what makes Amerigo a local favorite.

The shareable desserts are homemade and absolutely divine, however the tiramisu is a must try as far as I am concerned as it is the best you can get anywhere. The chocolate pecan fudge brownie, crème brulee, cheese cake, pecan butter crunch cake and key lime round out their dessert fare.

Amerigo also has a great sunday brunch with the great brunch fare as well as sandwiches, pizzas, salads, pasta and combo dishes from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

The drink: A full bar with seating, specialty drinks, a fine wine listing and beer are all available as well as tea, coffee and soft drinks. The bar is a great gathering spot with friends or a place to relax while you wait on your table before your fine dining experience.

The scene: One of the best scenes in town can be found at this Italian bistro.

The casual, cozy, yet upbeat atmosphere is an area classic. You can see the kitchen, and the smells of the wonderful foods cooking only adds to the atmosphere, yet once you are seated you can enjoy being with your guests and get lost in your own world.

The comfortable bar, the dark wood decor, the beautiful art work, or one of the cozy booths are just waiting for you to come and enjoy a great meal with first class service and great personalized attention.

The bottom line: Amerigo is a must visit establishment. They have received numerous culinary awards through their 20-year history and take great care in creating the best experience with the highest quality food and service.

Whether you are looking for a romantic dining spot, a place for a large gathering or business meeting, or an impressive catering spread, Amerigo can and will accommodate your needs.
