Paul Anthony’s Market is located in a beautiful stand alone building in the corner of the Highland Village Shopping Center. Paul Koury has brought a very unique restaurant complete with a butcher shop, specialty foods and catering business to the northeast Jackson area.

The food: Paul Anthony’s serves up great hot plate lunches daily Monday through Saturday to the busy area business crowd and locals alike. The hot plate lunch can be eaten inside at one of their wooden tables situated around the front of the market or outside at one of their umbrella covered tables, with plenty of people watching available.

Paul serves up an array of fresh veggies and USDA prime meats, fresh seafood, homemade cakes and desserts, and delicious sandwiches daily. You won’t go away hungry after one of the plate lunches with your choice of several daily meat items with a choice of two veggies. Sit inside or outside with your friends or take it to go if you are in a rush.

Sandwich offerings include roast beef, chicken salad, smoked turkey, pimento cheese, muffalettas and a pretty mean fresh-cooked hamburger with several side offerings available daily.

Paul Anthony’s is a very unique eatery as well as a butcher shop and specialty food market. The array of homemade cakes, desserts, and prepared foods to take home for dinner are absolutely delicious.

Their steaks are some of the best around—you can pick out your special cut and prepare it with friends at home, or take out an already cooked to perfection steak, pork chop or some of the freshest seafood in the area.

I have tried just about every sandwich and plate lunch so picking a favorite is somewhat difficult as they are all great. The butter fly pork chops are probably an all time favorite, yet all are worth a try.

The scene: Paul Anthony’s is an eatery as well as a full service butcher shop and specialty food market.  Plenty of gourmet sauces, spices, party platters, and imported cheeses can be found. They offer prepared dishes for the busy individual, and sells groceries as well.

The bottom line: Paul Anthony’s Market is primarily a gourmet grocery and butcher shop. You will find some unique sauces, spices, and a great variety of imported cheese items. However, their fresh ingredients served up for lunch are hard to beat anywhere else.
