A cozy Sunday after church feel everyday. But on the sabbath, expect a line at lunch time to be backed up to the street. Two Sisters' holds the standard for home-style soul food high in Jackson. Awarded best fried chicken in the Best of Jackson awards, since 2005, this is the place to go for a true taste of the South. The restaurant was opened in June of '89 in an historic house back to back with the old George Street Grocery so you truly will feel like your at an antebellum family reunion. The oldies background music is only a small part of the nostalgia. The lunch buffet features daily varieties of vegetables: mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, greens, etc. and rolls to die for. Everything is homemade. And these ladies will make sure you leave absolutely stuffed as they top off the feast with their award-winning bread or banana pudding. Be prepared to lay down afterwards for a lazy afternoon nap. A must try for the southern experience of soul food over-indulgence.
