Inside: The Auditorium
Opened in March, The Auditorium is the newest venture of Jackson restaurateur Nathan Glenn, the man behind the successful local eateries Rooster's and Basil's. The Auditorium is something different—it combines a menu featuring dishes inspired by Glenn's classic southern background with a full service bar and a world-class entertainment venue. The menu features southern favorites like fried catfish, red beans and rice and shrimp and grits as well as local Jackson standbys like comeback dressing. Housed in remodeled auditorium formerly of the historic Duling School in Fondren, the restaurant includes a bar, patio area and large dining hall. But the main attraction on weekends and for special events is The Peavey Stage, a spacious performance venue with excellent acoustics that has featured live performances by well-known local acts like Eddie Cotton and The Mississippi Rolling Stones.
