I recently had a group of about 15 people and we went to Toulas for lunch. This was the best food we've had since I can remember. The servers were friendly and helpful, the hostess was right on top of things greeting everyone, and ensuring everyone there was enjoying their meal. The lunch menu has a good variety of selections and I can say that there wasn't anything that I didn't like about the place. I went back for dinner a few days later and just when I thought it couldnt get any better, WOW! This had to have been the best steak I've ever had. We will be back, and often. Its about time Clinton had something like this around.

Go on Wednesday night if you enjoy raw oysters. They are 25 cents each then. Crab's if a fun place to kick back and enjoy a light meal in a friendly atmosphere. You won't be disappointed.

What is the "sham" guy talking about. This is one of the best restaurants in the country! Advice about Pavoni's, "It is for the rich, not poor." Nothing wrong with being poor. Just that poor people don't go to Pavoni's. Save up for a few years and then visit again with a different perspective. Class act authentic operation! Just not fo the po!

I appreciate that you are going through and "reviewing" all of the restaurants in Jackson, but how are these supposed to help anyone decide where to go eat. There is absolutely no critique. You just listed what is on the menu. Is this your first time to eat pizza? Maybe describe the pizza, what is the crust like, deep dish or thin crust?

Berbaby wrote about Fusion Coffeehouse

Having tried every coffeehouse in the Jackson area, I must say that Fusion Coffeehouse is the undeniable winner! The coffee is smooth, fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is upscale while also very relaxing (they play jazz all day, everyday - if you stay long enough, you'll even hear some of the local musicians!). The pastries and treats are so yummy - they also have a delicious lunch menu! If you haven't tried Fusion, you must go by there today! Tell 'em you want the Frankie's Favorite - don't worry, they'll know what you mean. :)

Eight ladies recently met there for our monthly lunch gathering. We found that the portions were small, and neither bread nor crackers were offered with soup. The server never offered beverage (tea or water) refills. We were not pleased with Toula's offerings and agreed there were better places in Clinton for our luncheons.

crm44 wrote about Bridges Fish House

My wife and I went to Bridges Fish House Saturday evening and I have got to say it was some of the worst food that we have ever had. I had whole fish and when it was brought out the fish was only luke warm and grease was in the platter from the fish. The turnip greens had grease floating in the bowl, the hush puppies were cooked too fast and were greasy and not done in the middle. We will not be going back there to eat. Don't recommend it to anyone.

I was a little leary after reading some of the reviews on here but I decided to try it anyway. The food was great! I hate going to a seafood restaurant and having the choice of a fried platter or a grilled fish. We got the snow crab bucket with a 1/2 lb of shrimp and an oyster/shrimp poboy! The crab was seasoned great but would have liked a little more heat! There was more food than 1 person could ever eat. The poboy was on pressed bread like it's supposed to be was also very tasty. We have been waiting on a place to get good steamed seafood for a long time and we finally found it! Thanks Crabs!

The food was awesome and the service was great . I especially liked the ribeye steak and it was cooked perfectly. I have eaten there for lunch too and the gumbo and crawfish pit were athentic. They are getting ready to open a bar so I can't wait to try it. I will definitely be going back. The atmosphere was so warm and delightful . Clinton really needed a non-chain restaurant.

Have been told this restaurant was the best and finally ate here last night. Wish I would have done so much sooner! Ordered the redfish which was cooked to perfection and the atmosphere and Staff were also delightful! Can't wait to go back again and again and again!

redfish wrote about Mayflower Cafe

Will not be going back! Being a resident of Jackson for 50+ years, have always considered the Mayflower as my favorite restaurant in Jackson until this past weekend. Both my friend and I ordered redfish with crabmeat on top and it was okay, however, we both had to pick out numerous small bones in the redfish and cartlilage in the crabmeat. The baked potato was warm but not hot and the rolls which are usually an asset here seemed to have been from the night before and reheated - way too...

I love the ladies that work there. They are all sweet, besides one - and most of you that been there know who I am talking about. But they are good people, whether your in a shirt and tie or some Dickie's coveralls they treat everyone the same with kindness. On to the food - I don't know where to begin? Usually when I go, I grab the rib eye po-boy, turkey po-boy w/jalapenos, or the rancher burger. I ordered a super beatty one time and it knocked me out, my stomach was so full. The sausage po-boy is made with red rose and they dress them pretty good. If you want some greenery, they make a huge chef salad. Anytime I pick one up for lunch, I always have some left over to take home. The make good breakfast sandwhich's as well. But I have to tell you about two things, the bologna sandwhich and the large sweet tea. The Bologna sandwhich is legendary, because they deep fry it! Yes people, beware - eat at your own risk! I seen someone order it one day and I had to try it! It's super thick cut bologna too. The put it on texas toast, with lettuce, tomotao, onion, cheese, mayo, mustard and ketchup, with salt and pepper! People I have never had a bologna sandwhich that good before. Then the sweet tea, the large sweet tea - you might as well call it a bucket of tea! I give them high ratings for food, service and value - it's not subway or lenny's - but they havce soul in there and I always stop and grab something when I am on that end of town. Check'em out for yourself.

Combatdoc66 wrote about Fratesi's

I ate there this past Saturday night (Sep 26th). As usual the food was really good, and the staff was pleasant. This particular night though, was ruined by an obnoxious drunk guy. He was obviously a good friend of the owners, as they greeted him when he came in. He was sitting in the back corner of the lefthand side, and was disturbing everyone in there. As if his random loud outbursts weren't enough, he began to act as if he were sobbing out loud. This was very disrupting to everyone there, who turned to look at him. We complained to our server, but no one ever came out to talk with us, or to try to resolve the situation. Needless to say, it will be a while before we go back. Friend or not, everyone there is a patron, and deserve to enjoy their meals in peace.

Allister wrote about Sal and Phil's Seafood Restaurant & Lounge

This was our first and will be our last time coming here. We had heard this place was good - WAS might be the operative word here. We ordered crab cake appetizers that appeared to come from a Gorton's box and started out with the smallest salad bowl I had ever seen including imitation bacon bits. The shrimp p' boy and stuffed flounder were terrible. The wait staff was decent when we first arrived but as others came in and sat around us they were asking where the wait staff was. They did not show up much after that. This place has potential but unfortunately will not make it if this is what they offer. Too bad because it is in our neighborhood. We will stick with the Crab Shack down the road from now on...

Sorry folks, they may have been good but from what I experienced recently you could have found better food at Red Lobster! Crab cakes from Gortons? Stuffed flounder and oyster p' boy that were unevenful, the smallest salad plate imaginable including imitation bacon bits, our service was o.k. at first but then others coming in our area afterwards were asking us where the wait staff was. My guess is this restaurant used to be good and they are cutting corners trying to make it. Sad becuase it is in our nieghborhood and had potential. We recommend the Crab Shack just down the road for seafood or of course Cock of the Walk for a great fish plate. Don't waste your money here...

baquan20001415 wrote about Bully's Restaurant

Bully's is not in the most convenient location, but it's off the beaten path and that just adds to it's legend. Been eating at Bully's off and on since I been in Jackson (1993) 16 years. If you want fresh, hot piping food from the stove like yor grandmother in the country, go to Bully's! Fried chicken, smothered chicken and pork chops, bbq ribs, ox tails, colard greens, corn bread - with a cool glass of sweet tea! If you want to get your money's worth, you might as well sit down and eat, talk to one of the ladies that's shellin' peas or preppin' greens, watch the news and listen to the regular customers talk about events. The to-go portions do not wow me, so I usually stay there and eat. No it not Schimmel's, Shapley's or even Tico's - but its home, so I had to give a below average rating for "Ambiance" for some of the parly pru franci crowd. But if you want to roll up yor sleeves, get down for some true real food, the ambiance is excellent. I would recommend anyone to go on a day, during the week, when ou don't have to go back to work. Because once you finish eating, you will have the "idis" and you will have to go home and take a nap. Look forward to hearing some of your reviews.

baquan20001415 wrote about Two Sisters' Kitchen

Well, where do you begin!? THE CHICKEN! When I mean they make some good chicken, they make some good chicken. Lord knows they make some good chicken, they need to sell it buckets and put KFC out of business! Anyhow, they have a little salad buffet, that serves fresh greens with good toppings and nice dressings. As far as the hot food on the buffet, they do a good job with vegetables. I like them all, buttered beans, lima beans, but I love their spaghetti, I have not had spaghetti that tasted better at any other restaurant in the Jackson area. Good sweet tea and the deserts are great, and the one thing they will do for you, that I think is so nice, is that if you are too full - they will ask you if you want desert and wrap it up for you and let you take it home. Not too many buffet's will do that. The lady's remember the familiar faces, the waiters remember you and it is a pleasent place to come. The only drawback, is if you come on a day that is not weather friendly, its kind'a cramp quarters on the inside and you might have to climb some stairs in order to get a table. I gave them a high mark on value, because the food is so good - but its not blue collar friendly in regards to lunch prices. But great for after church crowd or if you have extra cash to splurge on a lunch buffet.

This use to be a great place for seafood. Well I think they lost their touch. My last trip is going to be my last. Ok here is my problems: 1. Food on table from previous diners. 2. The menu they gave us had food stuck on it. 3. The floor was dirty and had food in the corners. 4. I tried to clean off my eating space with and the napkin came up black. 5. Ordered the fried platter for two. The food was cooked ahead of time and was cold. 6. The waite person should have been working at a bar not a restaurant. I WILL NOT RETURN
